2. Insert stud and slip grommet over stud.

3. Flatten Grommet.

The triple-x (xxx) in the tool part number stands for the stud size number, I.e., 35, 5, or 6.

A 9916-1-6-Hxxx-BB is used to flatten the grommet while a Flat Surface Plate supports the stud and panel.

Flush Head Stud using type 1276 Full Grommet Retainer
Installation of a 1276 Full Grommet Retainer is a multi-step process and requires several different tools.
  1. DFCI does not supply the Dimpling tool.
  2. A 9916-3-6xxx-BB is used to set the grommet in the dimpled hole while a 9902-3-6xxx-BB Side A is used to support the panel.
  3. A 9902-3-6xxx-BB Side A is used to support the panel while a flat surface plate applies pressure to clinch the grommet and panel to the stud.

Installation in a dimpled and reverse-clinched panel stud hole is a two step process.
  1. DFCI does not supply the Dimpling tool.
  2. Once the stud is inserted in the hole, a Flat Surface Plate is used against a 9902-3-6-Nxxx-BB to clinch the stud in the hole.
